How Pro-Data grew from a few VPS servers to an AI infrastructure serving over 300 customers in just 5 years

Today, Pro-Data is one of the leading cloud providers in Central Asia. More than 300 customers trust us with their IT systems. Our infrastructure is deployed across five of the largest and most reliable data centers in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Our solution portfolio includes:
Recently, we have also been actively supporting startups, contributing to the development of the IT community, and continuing to play a role in shaping the cloud market of Central Asia.
Five years ago, the cloud technology market in Uzbekistan looked very different. At the beginning of 2021, there were virtually no companies in the country providing IT infrastructure as a fully-fledged service. Large telecom operators were present in the market, but cloud services remained more of an additional business line for them.
At the same time, demand was already emerging. Companies were launching digital products, developing online services, and automating processes — yet a local cloud ecosystem was practically non-existent.
This is when Pro-Data was founded — as a response to the growing market demand for a specialized cloud provider for whom cloud is not an additional service, but the core business.
The first year became a period of building the company’s foundation.
In 2021, together with another cloud provider, we launched our first availability zone — RU-1. Gradually, our first customers appeared: some migrated individual services, some tested infrastructure, while others launched their first projects in the cloud.
An additional driver of growth was the personal data regulation (Law No. ZRU-547), which strengthened demand for local data placement within the country. This led to the launch of the UZ-1 and UZ-2 availability zones.
At the beginning, our portfolio was relatively simple: VPS and VDS services. Essentially, we provided virtual infrastructure and sent server credentials via email — which reflected how a significant part of the market operated at the time.
However, it quickly became clear that customers needed more. Businesses required flexibility, convenience, and the ability to manage infrastructure independently.
That was when we decided to build our own cloud platform and control panel. We tested several ready-made solutions, but none met our expectations. As a result, we started developing our own platform, which we continue to improve today.
The following years became a period of rapid growth — both for Pro-Data and for the regional IT market.
More and more companies in Uzbekistan entered an active phase of digital transformation, international players entered the market, and demand for modern cloud services increased.
We continuously communicated with customers to understand where the market was moving and which challenges would become relevant in the future.
In 2022, we launched our own cloud control panel and commissioned new availability zones UZ-3 and UZ-4. The number of customers grew from 50 to 130.
2023 became an important stage of infrastructure development. We launched the UZ-5 availability zone in a TIER III data center, became the first cloud provider in Uzbekistan to obtain PCI DSS certification, established connectivity between UZ-3 and UZ-5 for geo-redundancy, and achieved Microsoft partner status. The number of customers exceeded 170.
2024 became a year of strengthening our technological capabilities. We became a Veeam partner and launched the first commercial Veeam repository in Uzbekistan, as well as Backup as a Service based on it. We also started cooperation with Qrator Labs, one of the leaders in DDoS protection, and obtained Red Hat CCSP partner status.
The same year, Pro-Data became the first commercial provider in Uzbekistan to launch S3-compatible object storage, followed later by Managed Kubernetes. We also held our first offline company event — an important step toward building our own professional community.
2025 became a year of scaling. We entered the Kazakhstan market, increased revenue by 114%, while the number of customers grew by another 35%.
The actual average availability across all locations exceeded 99.982%.
The company also successfully obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification simultaneously in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
In 2026, we continued developing the platform: we completely redesigned the control panel UI/UX, implemented Infrastructure as Code support, and integrated Terraform with the Pro-Data cloud platform.
Of course, growth also came with challenges.
For example, in 2023, customer base growth exceeded our forecasts. During certain periods, infrastructure utilization approached capacity limits, resulting in several incidents noticeable to customers.
This became an important signal for us. We decided to develop infrastructure with reserve capacity — investing not only for current demand, but also for future growth.
Like everyone else, we see the global megatrend associated with artificial intelligence and its rapid integration into business processes and IT systems. We see our role clearly — to provide AI infrastructure as a service in our region.
Today, we offer two types of GPU accelerators: NVIDIA A100 and RTX Pro 6000. Deliveries of NVIDIA H100 and H200 are expected in the near future.
We primarily invest in widely востребованное (“mainstream”) equipment that is optimally suited for the needs of most customers and provides the best balance between performance and cost. This approach enables our customers to use resources efficiently and optimize costs for both traditional and AI infrastructure.
Our solutions help customers launch IT projects faster, ensure their uninterrupted operation, and comply with strict security and regulatory requirements.
Most importantly, we take responsibility for the stable operation of mission-critical infrastructure. This allows our customers to focus on their own business, products, and growth instead of dealing with infrastructure complexity.
